Boyd Gaming’s “Trees of Hope” Returns: How to Support Las Vegas Dog Rescues This Holiday Season

Boyd Gaming’s annual Trees of Hope campaign is back — bringing together holiday spirit, friendly competition, and meaningful support for dozens of local nonprofits across the Las Vegas valley. Each year, participating organizations decorate themed holiday trees displayed at Boyd Gaming properties. Guests then vote daily, and every charity receives a donation, with the top finishers earning larger awards.
While the initiative includes a wide range of nonprofits, several dog-focused rescue groups are participating this year — and a simple daily vote could help them secure much-needed funding during one of the toughest seasons for animal welfare.
How Trees of Hope Works
Guests ages 21+ with a free Boyd Rewards account can vote once per day, per property. Trees are displayed across eight Las Vegas Boyd locations, and voting takes place through December 12, 2025, with winners announced on December 18.
Highlights include:
- Nearly $70,000 in donations awarded across the valley
- Larger prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and honorable mentions at each casino
- Additional prize awards for the top three online vote-getters across all eight Las Vegas properties
Votes can be cast in person by swiping at kiosks or online through Boyd Gaming’s Trees of Hope portal.
Where to Vote for Dog-Focused Nonprofits
Each participating property selects a set of nonprofits for the competition. For dog lovers wanting to support local rescues, these are the groups to look for in Las Vegas:
Cannery – Raise The Bar-n Rescue
Located in front of Carve at the Cannery, Raise The Bar-n Rescue is competing for funds that support abandoned, mistreated, and at-risk dogs. Raise The Bar-n Rescue online voting link.
Gold Coast – Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation
Their tree is displayed next to the Cornerstone entrance, supporting Beagles and mixed breeds rescued from difficult circumstances. Southern Nevada Beagle Rescue Foundation online voting link.
Sam’s Town – Pawtastic Friends
Found near Mystic Falls Park, Pawtastic Friends supports enrichment and training programs for shelter dogs preparing for adoption. Pawtastic Friends online voting link.
Suncoast – Southern Nevada Boston Terrier Rescue
Displayed along the Promenade walkway, this group assists Boston Terriers and mixes in need of new homes. Southern Nevada Boston Terrier Rescue voting link.
The Orleans – Kiss My Paws Rescue
Located next to Big Al’s Oyster Bar, this rescue works tirelessly to save dogs from overcrowded shelters and urgent situations. Kiss My Paws Rescue voting link.
Jokers Wild – Heaven Can Wait Animal Society
Trees are displayed throughout the casino, highlighting the organization’s focus on spay/neuter and community outreach. Heaven Can Wait Animal Society voting link.
These rescues rely heavily on public donations — especially during the holidays when shelter intake surges and funding becomes strained. A daily vote is a simple but meaningful way to support their work.
When and How to Vote
Voting runs November 24–December 12, 2025, and guests can cast votes in two ways:
In-Person Voting
- Must be 21+ with a Boyd Rewards account (membership is free)
- Swipe your card at the kiosks once per day at each property
- Each swipe counts as one vote
Online Voting
- Visit https://www.BoydGaming.com/Trees-of-Hope
- Select your preferred charity
- One online vote per person per day
Why This Campaign Matters
Trees of Hope has become one of the most significant holiday giving programs in the region, offering smaller charities a rare chance to receive guaranteed funding — and the potential for thousands more if they secure a top spot.
For local dog rescues, these funds can directly support:
- Emergency veterinary care
- Food and supplies
- Training and behavioral support
- Foster home resources
- Transport and intake of at-risk dogs
With shelters overcrowded and rescues stretched thin, even a single donation — or a daily vote — can help save lives.
How to Get Involved
If you want to support Las Vegas’s dog-focused nonprofits this holiday season, consider:
- Voting daily in person and online
- Sharing the voting links with friends and family
- Visiting the Trees of Hope displays to see the decorated trees in person
- Following each rescue on social media to learn more about their work
Dozens of charities are participating across the country at Boyd Gaming locations, so whichever cause resonates with you, the Trees of Hope program offers a meaningful way to give back.
